Marlene (coordinator for the individual sponsorship in Peru) and Anne-Lise (in charge of the individual sponsorship in France) organised a meeting on Saturday, 30th October 2021. They could meet about twenty sponsored children and gave them some financial support. Children and parents came in turn for sanitary reasons.
The sponsored children they met are still going to elementary school, secondary school and even sometimes high school. Teaching is still done remotely. They still wish to follow studies, despite of the difficulties due to the Covid situation.
Their needs include school fees, the purchase of clothes, mobile phones to attend classes, prepaid cards for internet access, and sometimes food shopping for the ones who are in big difficulty.
Families have in fact witnessed various economic situations, some of which are still in a very precarious situation when work has not resumed, others have been able to continue paying private educational institutions (especially for the preparation of the university entrance exam).
Marlene will continue to follow-up and try to contact families by the end of the year, including those that we have not met in 2021.
